Lumineers® –  Fort Lauderdale, FL

Lumineers®

At Dr. Patty’s Dental Boutique & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, FL, we enhance our clients’ smiles and daily lives with Lumineers®, a dental veneer option popular among Hollywood celebrities. We want to help you choose the right dental veneers for your needs and cosmetic ambitions.

Lumineers® are a Trusted Dental Veneer Option in Hollywood and Beyond

Lumineers® are ultra-thin, custom-made shells designed to look like your natural teeth. We can use them to correct a wide range of dental imperfections you may be experiencing, such as chipped, stained, or misaligned teeth. Lumineers® are an excellent option for dental patients seeking dental veneers.

Unlike many other types of dental veneers, Lumineers® require little to no preparation of your teeth, so there is no need for anesthesia or drilling, which means less pain and discomfort during your procedure. In addition, Lumineers® are highly durable and can last up to 20 years with proper care.

Lumineers® are also reversible, meaning you could later have them removed without damaging your underlying tooth structure.

The Many Benefits of Lumineers®

Lumineers® offer many benefits, making a beautiful smile an option for nearly anyone:

  • Natural look
  • Ultra-thin
  • Durable
  • No shots required
  • No removal of tooth structure required
  • Reversible
  • Applied and ready after two visits
  • Long-lasting (up to 20 years)

During a complimentary consultation, we will be happy to guide you and assess whether Lumineers® are the right option for your dental and esthetic goals.

Differentiating Lumineers® from Other Dental Veneer Options

Lumineers® are a popular choice for people looking to improve the look of their smile. Unlike traditional veneers, Lumineers® are ultra-thin and require minimal preparation. They are also reversible, meaning that if you decide to remove them in the future, your original teeth will remain intact.

The main difference between Lumineers® and other dental veneer options is the thickness. Traditional veneers range from 0.5mm to 1mm thick, while Lumineers® are only 0.3mm thick, making them much less invasive and more comfortable than traditional veneers.

The reversibility of Lumineers® differentiates them from permanent options that may require the removal of some of your natural tooth structure during preparation, making it difficult to reverse those procedures without additional damage to your teeth.

Another key difference is that Lumineers® don’t require any shots or drilling, which can be uncomfortable for some patients. Lumineers® can be applied in two visits to our office, whereas some of our other dental veneer options provide different strengths while requiring more steps before you can enjoy your dental veneers. Overall, Lumineers® can offer an excellent opportunity for those looking to improve their smile without undergoing extensive dental work or committing to permanent changes. We invite you to contact us today to schedule a complimentary consultation so we can assess which dental veneer options might be right for your needs and preferences.

Caring for Lumineers® — Avoiding Staining or Damage

You should avoid drinks such as coffee, tea, red wine, and even some foods like dark-colored fruits and vegetables, as they can cause staining on the surface of the Lumineer. Similarly, the acidity of foods like citrus fruits can erode the enamel on your natural teeth and cause discoloration of the Lumineer surface over time. Avoid harmful habits such as smoking or chewing tobacco, which can lead to staining on the surface of your Lumineers®.

Maintain good oral hygiene by brushing regularly with a soft-bristled brush for two full minutes, floss at least daily, and remove plaque and food particles that can get wedged between your teeth. Maintain regular dental checkups to monitor your Lumineers® for damage.

Chewing your fingernails or opening packages with your teeth can cause damage to Lumineers®, which are not as durable as some other types of veneers. Hard foods like nuts, hard candy, and ice can cause wear or cracking, and habits such as grinding your teeth can also cause damage. Other foods that may damage Lumineers® include hard fruits and vegetables like apples and carrots, popcorn kernels, and chewy candies like taffy.

With Lumineers®, You Can Have a Beautiful Smile After Only Two Easy Appointments

At Dr. Patty’s Dental Boutique & Spa, we can quickly and easily apply Lumineers® to your teeth in a process that usually requires only two appointments. At the first appointment, we will take an impression of your teeth to make your Lumineers® fit your smile.

At the second appointment, we will place the Lumineers® onto your teeth and make any necessary adjustments to ensure they fit properly. Once everything is in place, we will use a special adhesive to bond them to your teeth. The whole process usually takes about two weeks from start to finish, and then you can smile confidently!
